
The Development Centre (“Kalkınma Merkezi”)
has been established in Diyarbakir on 1st October 2004, as a
Cooperative, by 11 persons who had experience about the Rural and Urban
Development, who had knowledge about the Social Sciences, and who believed on
the importance of the local experience.
The Development Centre changed its juridical
status from ‘Cooperative’ to ‘Association’ on 4 September 2006.
Its members are now 16 persons.
We believe on the importance to improve in the
region researches aimed at the knowledge of the methods and fields of
intervention before the beginning of the activities directed towards our goals.
With these researches and analysis, on the basis of our experience, will be
defined the existing situation of the most relevant questions of the place of
the intervention, and its needs.
We have the aim to produce
models suitable to be repeated and spread, with the development of projects
elaborated with attention to the socio-cultural structure of the local society
and carried out with the personal participation of the local people, and
assimilated by them.
We have the aim to collaborate with official institutions and local directors,
national and international universities, associations of the civil society,
professional unions, chambers, educational associations etc.. ()
